Abstract: PURPOSE: To analyze the clinical and pathological characteristics of ameloblastic carcinoma. METHODS: Two cases of ameloblastic carcinoma were reported and the relevant literatures were reviewed and analyzed. RESULTS: There were 30 well-documented clinical reports of ameloblastic carcinoma, including 3 retrospective studies and 27 case reports, with 61 patients in total. CONCLUSION: Ameloblastic carcinoma is a rare odontogenic epithelial malignancy with no significant gender differences and non-specific clinical features, the definite diagnosis was depended on pathological examination and immunohistochemical staining. It is easy to infiltrate contiguous tissues, surgical treatment is preferred. The patient’s prognosis is not so good that long-time follow-up is necessary.
