Removal of broken roots in maxillary sinus under endoscope

Abstract: PURPOSE: To introduce the technique of minimally invasive removal of broken roots in maxillary sinus under endoscope. METHODS: Eleven cases were included in this clinical study (twelve broken roots dislocated into maxillary sinus due to improper treatment), alveolar socket pathway was chosen to remove the roots in 8 cases, opening window around canine fossa was used to remove roots in 3 cases. All operations were carried out under endoscope. RESULTS: Twelve broken roots were successfully removed without any complications. CONCLUSIONS: Minimally invasive removal of roots in maxillary sinus under endoscope is worth of wide application.
