Abstract: PURPOSE : To estimate the efficacy and safety of oral propranolol for the treatment of infantile hemangiomas in the noses. METHODS : From March, 2013 to March, 2015, 29 infantile hemangiomas in the noses were treated with oral propranolol at a dose of 2.0 mg/(kg·d), divided into 2 times. The changes of the tumor size, texture and color were monitored and recorded at a regular interval. The adverse reactions after medication were observed and managed accordingly. The efficacy was evaluated using Achauer's system. RESULTS : The average mediation duration was 6 months. The overall response was gradeⅡ in 2 patients, grade Ⅲ in 9 patients, grade Ⅳ in 18 patients. Adverse reactions were observed in 2 patients, including mild diarrhea and sleep disturbance. CONCLUSION S: Oral propranolol is effective and safe for the treatment of infantile hemangiomas in the noses, and the adverse reaction is minimal.
