Abstract: Vascular anomalies are a group of common congenital vascular or lymphatic lesions. The biologic classification of vascular anomalies proposed by Mulliken and Glowacki in 1982 had been widely accepted. In 1996, ISSVA developed a relatively complete classification system and the revised version approved by 2014 ISSVA General Assembly was implemented in clinical practice worldwide. In order to evolve as our understanding of the biology and genetics of vascular malformation and tumor continues to grow, the 21st ISSVA Workshop, May 2018 Amsterdam, Netherlands, expanded and updated the classification on the basis of the 2014 edition. This paper introduced the 2018 newly revised ISSVA classification of vascular anomalies for clinical, research and academic reference.
