Abstract: Ultrasound is a non-invasive and convenient tool for diagnosis of vascular tumors of the head and neck, preoperative evaluation and follow-up of disease changes. Ultrasound technologies include grayscale imaging, color Doppler imaging, three dimensional color Doppler and elastography. This article summarized the ultrasound examination methods of these lesions based on the new classification of vascular lesions proposed by International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies(ISSVA), and reviewed the relevant clinical and ultrasound features including infantile and congenital hemangioma, pyogenic granuloma, tufted angioma and Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma, in order to provide an effective basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
