Abstract: Programmed cell death refers to the way in which cells depend on certain genes to encode signals or activities. Apoptosis, autophagy, apoptosis and pyroptosis all belong to programmed cell death, pyroptosis is a programmed cell death dependent on cysteine containing aspartate proteinase (caspase) . Recently, many studies found that pyroptosis is associated with inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases and tumors. A thorough understanding of the mechanism of pyroptosis and its relationship with tumors is of guiding significance in the treatment of tumors. This article focus on the mechanism of pyroptosis and the related research progress of pyroptosis and tumor of head and neck.
